Hey lovelies! I’m seeing a lot of confusion about the items in this months Ipsy glam bag. I took a look through a lot of the comments and posts on the Facebook page. I realized that the language Ipsy has started using in their previews has a lot of people confused as to what products they will be getting. In an attempt to help Ipsters understand, I’ve put together a quick rundown of all the reveals and what they mean.
“OCTOBER SNEAK PEEK: MONDAY. All subscribers will receive one of these museum-worthy products in a precious shade!“
“OCTOBER SNEAK PEEK: WEDNESDAY. All subscribers will receive at least one of these products, which are well-suited for making a big, bold statement!”
Monday was the first sneak peak released and it was identified as Zoya Satin Cashmere Collection nail polish. Wednesday revealed to us the Big Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel and Style Sexy Hair Blow It Up Spray. Note the use of the words “all subscribers” in these two. This means that everyone being shipped an October Glam Bag will be receiving one Zoya polish and either the Volumizing Gel OR Spray.. Hopefully with varying polish shades! I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a limited colour variety but there should be some variations. Your hair preferences might have a say in receiving the gel vs the spray, but I’m not sure about that one.
“OCTOBER SNEAK PEEK: TUESDAY. It’s easy to create timeless works of art when you have these products at your fingertips. Some of our subscribers will receive at least one one of these products in their October Glam Bag!”
“OCTOBER SNEAK PEEK: THURSDAY MORNING. Some of our subscribers will get the chance to release their inner artist with the help of at least one of these colorful products.”
“OCTOBER SNEAK PEEK: THURSDAY AFTERNOON. Some of our subscribers will receive one of these products, which are each perfect for prepping a blank canvas.”
The items included in Tuesday’s preview are Starlooks Lip Pencil (possibly in shade Tipsy), a MICA Mineral Eyeshadow (blue pictured, possible colour variations), a pot that looks to be Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment, along with a Pure Dead Sea Body Lotion and Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel. Today we got two previews, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They revealed L.A Fresh Wipes, Starlooks Eyeshadow Brush, Fergie Wet N’ Wild Eyeshadow Compact. The lip product is suspected to be a Sephora Buxom gloss. This afternoon revealed Ole Henriksen On The Go Cleanser and either the Total Truth Vitamin C Eye Crème SPF 15 or the Truth Crème Vitamin C Advanced Hydration.
Now, the wording in this post uses the phrase “some of our subscribers”. This has a lot of people worried their bag won’t have any of these items, as only “some” subscribers get them. What this actually means is that the items here are part of the rotating samples that get randomly distributed to Ipsters. Notice how some bags have different items each month? This is due to several things, mainly sample quantities and Ipsy matches/reviews. Ipsy doesn’t always get enough samples to give one to every Ipster. They try their best to get everyone the items they want, but sometimes it’s just not possible. They also try to follow the Ipsy Match preferences as much as they can, but that’s not an exact science either. They use the sneak peeks to show us the full variety of products potentially available each month. Ipsy has stated “Though you might not get what is in the photo above, you will be guaranteed 5 full or deluxe sized samples (shown in previous sneak peeks) that have been customized just for you through ipsyMatch.” on their Facebook page. Assuming the Zoya polish is fullsize, one item is the hair gel or spray, each Ipster will be receiving a mix of 3 of the remaining items shown. It may not be exactly what we each want, but remember that Ipsy does try the best they can and that for $10 a month, this is still a great deal. If you don’t like an item, considering gifting it to a family member or friend! If you’re interested in signing up for Ipsy, it would be super cool if you wanted to use my referral link!
